Better artist of 2011:

Bon Iver or The Black Keys?

Let me just tell you…

The Grammys are like Christmas to me.  Probably one of my favorite days of the whole year.  Ahead of time, I write out all the categories and who I believe should win. They are genuinely my favorite thing in the world. I can’t wait to be sitting on the edge of my couch clutching my predictions list and freaking the fuck out.

And so begins my meager attempt to learn a few ukelele tunes.  First up is Johnny Cash’s Walk The Line (obviously).

My Music, Technology & Media class today features a lesson called “While My Guitar Gently Beeps” and we’re playing Guitar Hero all class.  I LOVE LIFE.

I haven’t procrastinated this hard in a real long time. FUCK.

I have a fifteen minute powerpoint presentation and accompanying long paper on ska music due Monday.

LIKE FUCK YEAH, I LOVE SKA MUSIC…….. but I just wanna see my friends this break and not worry about homework. Guess it could be worse. Point is, I really need to be starting it like NOW.

My teacher just emailed me the Radiohead homework from the class I missed yesterday. DID I MENTION HOW MUCH I LOVE MY CLASSES?!?

I have to select an album from the 60s, 70s, or 80s and write a paper about it’s production, promotion, and influence on the music industry.  I’ve narrowed it down to these choices:

Bruce Springsteen, Born To Run

Van Morrison, Astral Weekss

Johnny Cash, At Folsom Prison

Simon & Garfunkel, Bookends

Fleetwood Mac, Rumours

Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life

Carole King, Tapestry

Cat Stevens, Tea for the Tillerman

I need help guys! Which one should I pick? It’s not necessarily the best album, but the one that I can report the most about and that had the biggest influence. Votes?

Got all my classes! Next semester I’ll be taking:

  • Math for the Modern World
  • Advanced Business of Music
  • Black Experience Through Music
  • Music of Latin America

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks while I write my Music, Technology & Media paper.  However, if you continue to see me posting, then that means that I’m not doing my paper.

Bragged about not getting sick all semester, then the week of finals i become insanely ill. Yay for studying for my music final until unknown hours. I just want Elizabethtown, a familiar bed, and vapor rub.
